Spread the Word Nevada Receives $15,000 Grant from Bank of America to Support Children's Literacy

July 6, 2009 - Spread the Word Nevada is the grateful recipient of a $15,000 grant from Bank of America.

The grant will support Spread the Word Nevada programs and expand the distribution of new and gently-used books to at-risk children and their families in Southern Nevada.

Teri Williams remarked, "We are proud to continue our partnership with Spread the Word Nevada by promoting literacy and supporting the organization's mission to bring books into the homes of the at-risk youth and to help change children's lives one book at a time."

Bank of America has been a strong community partner of Spread the Word Nevada since 2007.

Lisa Habighorst, Executive Director of Spread the Word Nevada stated, "Community members like Bank of America are extremely valuable to us. Without their willingness to step up to the plate and support our programs, our literacy outreach to at-risk children across the valley would not be possible. We are thankful that wonderful partners like Bank of America continue to support our mission in these trying economic times."
