to Kids Adopts C.T. Sewell Empowerment School: School Number

3, 2008 - On Friday, March 14, Kids
to Kids proudly adopted C.T. Sewell Elementary
School, "Home of the Shining Stars."
This
is the 16th school adopted by Kids
to Kids. An adoption ceremony was held at 9:00
a.m., followed by a book distribution.
C.T.
Sewell Elementary School is located at 700 East Lake Mead
Drive in Henderson, Nevada.
During
the initial book distribution at the adoption ceremony, students
receive an initial bag of five books to take home. Thereafter,
Kids to Kids distributes
gently used and new books at the school and students will
have the opportunity to choose a book to add to their home
libraries on a monthly basis.
Among
the prominent figures in attendance were CCSD Superintendent
Dr. Walt Rulffes, Dr. Lauren Kohut-Rost, Deputy Superintendent,
Instruction Unit and Monte Bay, Academic Manager, Empowerment
Schools.
Also
in attendance were Henderson Mayor James Gibson and a representative
of Congressman Jon Porter's office.
